Water Level (1996-05-01 to 2021-09-30) Kootenay River and Wasa Lake Combined

This resource contains combined daily water level records for Wasa Lake and the Kootenay River, formatted to facilitate comparison of the two waterbodies from year to year. Consistent data is available for the Kootenay River from 1996-2006, and 2019-present, and for Wasa Lake from 1996-2006 and 2013-present. This resource will be updated regularly during the monitoring season.
This is the regression analysis that shows the predicted level for 2021.

| Data collection info | Wasa Lake data is collected using a HOBO data logger (surveyed at 766.35 masl), and Kootenay River data is currently measured manually using a gauge which was installed in 2019 (surveyed at 767.68 masl). Levels are currently recorded daily between May and September, and will be updated regularly during the monitoring season. Additional data for Wasa Lake 2007-2012 is available in chart form, daily values are not available. |
| Data processing | Pressure data for Wasa Lake is converted to water level using HOBO software. The Water Hub has performed a preliminary QA/QC protocol on this data but the individual user must still confirm the accuracy of the data and whether it will be appropriate for their purpose. The water hub template and structure is not used in this resource so that the data is able to easily be compared from year to year. |
